Buy American Or Else!
So I was reading a story off of AP News about how the European Union is looking at ways to reinforce it's overall preparedness in the event of an armed conflict. And part of that look was how dependent the EU is on the United States for arms hardware and software. In fact, it is the plan of the collective EU to spend in excess of $150 BILLION (yep, that's > $150,000,000,000 good old greenbacks) to build up their forces and resources.
Now here is where it is getting a little bit funny ...
Our Illustrious, Great, Caring, Compassionate, Bright Orange, Julius Cesar (don't ever use the word 'salad' around him) has decided to slap tariffs on all of those countries that are looking to buy software, hardware, and munitions. Screw them all, they are going to pay the US of A using a formula that is so screwed up, it placed tariffs on islands that are either only inhabited by penguins and fish, to islands where the only people there are U.S, Military ... and in each case, do not actually sell anything to our country.
So the good people of the European Union, being faced with taxes being placed on the goods and services they buy and sell to our country, decided to not have to deal with those impositions on their economy and instead, build up their own economies instead. So they shut out the United States as a trading partner as they look for weapons systems for their defense.
That makes sense. Screw the ones screwing you.
Well ... Loving Uncle Donnie doesn't like that. Forgetting he is the one who started this mess in the first place, he wants part of the benefits. I guess he didn't fully grasp the derogatory inference of being someone who wants everything and is willing to give up nothing in return. Reminds me of the phrase; have your cake and eat it too (I want to tax you but I want you to buy things from me as well).
(Ch)ump presidency 1 was a nightmare. For four years after that, I really believed that the American people had learned something. There was stability. You never heard anything really bad coming out of the government except for that which the opposition tried to churn up. An overall sense of 'normalcy' came over the land and I personally, was able to breathe again. Then came (Ch)ump 2 - bigger and badder than ever.
There is not one day that has gone by that I haven't thought that sooner or later the loonie train will come to a stop and the stupidity would end. And every day, it just gets worse. Even today, our own Lt. Governor was in the news with a Tesla Cybertruck (don't get me started on how much it looks like Elon saw a dumpster and decided to put wheels on it - okay, here is a picture) trolling the press because he just bought a new luxury SUV for him and his staff using my money.
Anyway, I'm done with my rant for today. I'm going to go out and drive the 32 miles round trip to the post office because the Great Pumpkin is not getting the soon to be condemned post office here in town repaired or moved.

Chris, I agree. It's beyond a dumpster fire shit show at this point. I'm not even upset by the cheeto in chief anymore. I'm much more upset with those people, elected and general citizenry, that not only defend him but truly believe in him. Sickening.
